Pedalboards come in all shapes and sizes, and are usually designed for guitarists with a huge arsenal of boutique pedals. Us bassists need pedals too, just not so many. While browsing for a suitable pedalboard I found none that fit my requirements exactly.
As a bassist I don’t shift my pedals around too much and I wanted a board that not only protected them, but was easily carried, and allowed me to connect to a fixed input and output socket on the board itself.
Universal boards with slots to run cables are great if you want to change your setup constantly, and with a bag to cover the board it’s portable, but you still need a separate power supply and cables.
Alderton pedalboards are built to be strong and portable, with integrated or shared power supplies and where needed USB hubs too. Choose from generic, with two rows of slots for power and audio connections, or custom, designed specifically for your pedal layout. Can’t decide? Have both and swap when needed. The pedal surface lies in place and is easily removed.
Constructed from strong Marine Plywood or MDF depending on preference, the boards are covered with high quality wrapping, paint or varnish and are available in any size. Get in touch to discuss you needs.
As an example, this is my personal board:
- 3 Pedals – Boss RC5 Loop Station, Zoom MS-60B Multistomp and Boss BC-1X Compressor
- External connections:
- 9V standard pedal power connector with splitter connected to all three pedals
- Guitar Input
- Control Pedal for Looper
- Stereo outputs with mono on the left
- USB C connector – Passes to an integrated hub connected to both the Looper and Multistomp for transferring patches and audio
- Case – Marine plywood finished in matt black and matt clearcoat
- Metal carrying handle, twin latches and lift off hinges
